Boko Haram ‘Captain’ Known As The Regional Head Arrested In Niger
Nigerian security forces have arrested the suspected brain behind the numerous attacks of the Boko Haram Islamist sect in the Diffa region of Niger which is not quite far from the Nigerian border.
Niger’s Anfani private radio station said
the suspect going by the name Kaka Bounou, was a trader based in Diffa. He had a title of a captain in Boko Haram, and was behind all the attacks carried out in Diffa, Xinhua reported on Thursday, February 12, 2015.
The radio source said, “He is a habitual offender who had been arrested several times and released, including by the Nigerian judiciary.”
Armed forced of Niger have intensified the fight against Boko Haram and are still in the Nigerian territory.
They have succeeded in recaptured Damasak town in troubled Borno state which was previously overtaken by the terrorists.
