Last night, Essence magazine kicked off the Grammy Awards weekend with its 6th annual Black Women In Music event.

The event, which focuses on the accomplishments of both emerging and established artists and influence in the industry, celebrated the
best and brightest moments in Black music over Essence’s 45-year history.

Ciara, Jill Scott, Jordin Sparks, Ledisi, MC Lyte, Chaka Khan, Lianne La Havas, Leona Lewis, Zendaya Coleman, Bridget Kelly, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Tasha Smith, Chante Moore, Chrisette Michele, Keisha Epps, Demetria McKinney, Vanessa A. Williams, Loni Love, Malina Moye, Kat Graham, Lalah Hathaway, Golden Brooks, Jessica White, Justine Syke, Jeannie Mai, Amber Riley, Elise Neal and many more were at the event.
